Simpson College has announced the addition of acrobatics and tumbling as the College’s 26th varsity sport beginning in the next academic year, with competition beginning in the 2025-26 academic year.

The sport is governed by the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association but is an emerging NCAA sport in all three athletic divisions, and is an evolution of different forms of gymnastics.

Acrobatics & tumbling is currently sponsored by 54 colleges and universities across all levels of the NCAA, including 10 Division III institutions. Simpson will be the first NCATA program in Iowa.
