The Knoxville School Board accepted three early retirement applications at their meeting Monday night.

On December 11th, the Knoxville Community School District (KCSD) Board of Directors offered a voluntary early retirement package that would be available for three district employees. Three employees submitted their application for the retirement package and met all requirements. The board approved applications for high school math teacher Jo Anne Ryan, kindergarten teacher Elaine Galeazzi, and elementary school counselor Ruthann Burkman. KCSD Superintendent Cassi Pearson says they plan to honor these staff members this spring.

“In May we’ll be honoring our retirees. As of right now that will be Jo Anne Ryan who has been a high school math teacher, Elaine Galeazzi who has been a long time kindergarten teacher, and Ruthann Burkman who has been our elementary counselor for quite awhile as well. As we get ready to celebrate them in May, look for more information on how we’re going to do that.”

To qualify for the early retirement package, staff members had to be employed by the district for at least ten consecutive years.
