The Bussey Fire Department was dispatched to a shed and tractor fire late Monday night.
While en route to the fire at 1169 340th St in Mahaska County, mutual aid for tankers and personnel were requested from Indiana Township, Clay Township, and Oskaloosa. The Bussey Fire Department responded with 2 engines and 6 personnel. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed with farm equipment inside and a defensive fire attack was initiated to protect nearby structures. With the help of the departments providing mutual aid, the fire was extinguished and all crews cleared the scene around 12:30 am Tuesday morning.
Responding agencies included the Indiana Township Fire Department, Clay Township Fire & Rescue, the Oskaloosa Fire Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa State Patrol.
