The Indianola School Board met in regular session Monday. The board approved student rate fees for the 2024-25 school year, appointed an audit committee, property tax valuations, and heard reports from the curriculum, facilities, and policy committee meeting. The board also approved the purchase of property at 104 N 9th St for $199,000. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the board has made a policy to try and purchase the properties located in that area near the high school so they can be flexible as far as expansion in the future if need be.

“It’s one of those pieces where if those properties become available we can purchase them for a possible expansion, we want to make sure we have room if and when the high school would need to be expanded out.”
