Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt and Marion County Attorney Jared Harmon are seeking re-election for their respective elected offices.

Both Sandholdt and Harmon announced their plans to seek re-election at Monday night’s republican caucuses and they are both incumbents. Sandholdt has served in his role as Marion County Sheriff for the last 11 years and in 2022 he was elected by his peers across the State of Iowa to serve as the 2023 President of the Iowa Statewide Sheriffs and Deputies Association. Sandholdt tells KNIA/KRLS radio that the Marion County Sheriff’s office is in a great position and he has a fabulous staff that is a part of his second family. Sandholdt hopes that the community has felt over the last 11 years that he has instilled a culture in his staff that truly revolves around protecting and serving all residents and visitors. Sandholdt says that he assures the community that through his leadership and ultimately the hard work and dedication of all of the Sheriff’s Office employees, he has one of the best Sheriff Offices in the State. Sandholdt asks the community for their support by voting for him in 2024.

Jared Harmon is seeking re-election for Marion County Attorney after assuming his role just shy of one year ago. Harmon tells KNIA/KRLS radio that he is pleased to announce his candidacy for Marion County Attorney. Harmon says he assumed the duties of the Marion County Attorney almost one year ago, and during that time his office has worked hard to protect the community and uphold the Constitution. Harmon states he has 19 years of experience as an attorney, nearly 10 of which he has spent as a felony drug prosecutor. Harmon says he will use his experience to continue working with law enforcement to ensure the people of Marion County have confidence justice is being brought to those who violate the law, while protecting the rights of law abiding citizens. Harmon says he is  asking for the community’s support and vote for Marion County Attorney.
