The Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department is looking forward to moving into the new facility at City State Bank Norwalk Fieldhouse early this spring.
In addition to housing the Norwalk Parks and Recreation offices, the fieldhouse will feature a commons area for senior and teen programming, a multi-use court with rubberized gym flooring, four basketball courts, four volleyball courts, six pickleball courts, and rental space for public practice, tournaments, and other community events. The project also includes 10 acres of multi-sport turf fields called Fareway Fields, the Sportsplex USA indoor sports training complex, and space for retail stores. Norwalk Parks and Recreation Athletics Complex Supervisor Adam Siebert says that the new facility will allow the department to host events at one location.
“We’ll be able to keep everything in one place. Right now, we are kind of at the discretion of our Norwalk Public Schools. So, we’ve got some events in the elementary schools, some in the middle schools, some in the other elementary schools, so we’re kind of spread all over the place, but with the new building opening, we’ll be able to host all of our stuff just at one location.”
Construction of the facility is ongoing, and the department anticipates that they will be able to move into their new office space in late March. Learn more about the project here.
