
The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams will host Des Moines Christian tonight in a West Central Conference varsity doubleheader.
The Trojan girls are 5-8 overall on the season and 2-6 in the conference and coming off a 56-34 loss to Van Meter on Tuesday night. The Pleasantville girls will now take on the 11-1 #3 ranked Lions who are coming off a 61-35 victory over Earlham in their last contest. The Trojan girls fell to Des Moines Christian earlier in the season 66-34. The Trojan girls have been led in scoring this season by junior Joelle Johnson who is averaging 22.4 points per game.
The Trojan boys are 4-7 overall on the season and 2-6 in the conference, and coming off a 72-66 loss to Van Meter in their last contest. The Pleasantville boys defeated the Lions earlier in the season for their first win over Des Moines Christian in school history. Des Moines Christian is 7-3 overall on the season and coming off a 59-43 victory over Earlham in their last game. The Trojan boys have been led in scoring this season by freshman Braylon Bingham who is averaging 22.7 points per game.
Tonight’s varsity doubleheader starts with the girls game at 6:15 pm and the boys game to follow.
