The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams fell to Clear Creek Amana Saturday afternoon in a home varsity doubleheader.

The Indian girls fell in their game 61-29 to the undefeated #2 ranked Clippers. The Indianola girls were led in scoring by junior Dana Blake who came away with nine points in the contest. The loss drops the Indian girls to 4-10 overall on the season.

The Indian boys dropped their contest 77-68. The Indianola boys found themselves only down two points late in the fourth quarter but a run by the Clippers in the last two minutes sealed the victory for the Clear Creek Amana boys. The Indianola boys were led in scoring by junior Andrew DeWall who had 18 points. The loss drops the Indian boys to 0-11 on the season. Indianola boys basketball coach Jeff Ebling hopes to see his team continue to improve.

“We just have to make sure we get plenty of rest here and come in Monday with the mindset of continuing to get better, which today they did a great job. All of the guys, the guys who see major minutes to the guys who maybe don’t see many minutes, they come in with a great attitude. They work hard, and we’re just going to keep coming in and getting better.”

The Indianola girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Oskaloosa.
