The Bluegrass Conference Boys Basketball Tournament has begun. Twin Cedars will start its march to Garden Grove, where Mormon Trail will host the semi-finals and finals this weekend with the team that will serve as the hosts of championship weekend. The other Saints of the BGC will provide a challenge for the Sabers as they received the 5th seed in the bracket. Twin Cedars Coach Mateo Varese thinks the teams are overlooking this group and hopes they will use that to make a run.

Varese: “Mormon Trail might be overlooking us thinking that we’re the best of the bottom tier, and we hopefully can get to Saturday and prove a lot of people wrong, then get the rest of the conference regular season played and hopefully no one will be able to say anything.”

The game will be played at Ankeny Christian High School with tip off at 6:00. The winner gets a trip to Mormon Trail High School on Thursday to face the winner of the one seed Ankeny Christian and the eighth seed Seymour survivor.
