Following a weekend of blizzard-related cancellations, local high school show choirs were able to compete this past Saturday.

Pella High School’s AcaPella was 1st place among same-class schools during the day portion of the competition; they did not stay to perform in the evening finals. Pella received honors for best band and best soloist (Eli Ebeling). Pella will next perform at Bettendorf on February 3rd.

Indianola’s Side One was the Grand Champion of the West Branch Saturday Night Jive showcase. The group nearly swept all caption awards as well, winning best vocals, choreography, show design, costumes, special effects, and soloist. Earlier in the day, the group won best costumes, special effects, and soloists, placing 1st in their tier. Side One next performs at Norwalk on February 3rd.
