In September, Bannister was among 22 college and university players nationwide cited for exemplary community impact as part of the Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.® He was one of just four Division III players selected and was honored at the Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans Jan. 1. On the field, Bannister was a five-time varsity letterwinner, a three-time second-team all-conference pick and was twice tabbed for the D3football.com All-Region team. He was twice named to the D3football.com Team of the Week and was named the American Rivers Defensive Player of the Week.

Last fall, Bannister was Central’s second-leading tackler with 54, including 27 solo stops and a tackle for loss. He led the Dutch with five interceptions and had four pass breakups. Central posted an 8-2 record.
