It is rivalry Wednesday tonight in the Cowles Fieldhouse on the Simpson College campus, as the Storm women’s and men’s basketball teams square off against Central in an American Rivers Conference doubleheader.

The Storm women have won 44 straight against Central dating back to the early 2000’s, and had to survive a tough effort against the Dutch where they pulled away late in a 73-65 victory despite Central pulling within three points to start the fourth quarter.

The Central men have started to build their own streak against the Storm, winning five in a row dating back to 2021 including an 80-76 win in December. Four players scored in double-figures in the first matchup where Central dominated the game early, and a late push from Simpson wasn’t enough to put them over the top.

The games will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA and the Simpsonathletics.com video stream, with Andrew Swadner on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 5:15pm, with tip-off at 5:30.
