Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Marion County has welcomed new Regional Director Tanya Michener.

Michener will be serving Marion, Mahaska, Jasper and Poweshiek counties in southeast Iowa. As regional director, she will provide administrative leadership to county extension office staff and guidance to county extension councils. Currently Michener is associate director of Newton Development Corporation as well as vice president and co-owner of Sign Pro of Newton. Her previous experience includes serving as an adjunct instructor at Indian Hills Community College, a Retired and Senior Volunteer Program assistant with ISU Extension and Outreach Jasper County, and a crisis counselor with Project Recovery Iowa – FEMA during the floods of 2010 in Jasper and Marion counties.
