As the budget preparation season continues for local municipalities, the Pella City Council has two additional work sessions scheduled this week.

Last week, the council met to discuss funding options for a potential new indoor recreation center and for renovations to the Pella Community Center. This week, they are planning to hold meetings Tuesday and Wednesday in what are described as strategic planning work sessions.

At Tuesday’s meeting, there are action items planned related to approval of a new city attorney and for a purchase agreement with Reliant Fire Apparatus for a new aerial fire engine purchase. Otherwise, both sessions will be for discussion and planning long-term for the current two-year term of the Pella City Council, and no other action is scheduled.

Both meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Pella Public Safety Complex, and neither will be broadcast via conference call.
