Pleasantville assistant baseball coach Heath DeForest has been named assistant baseball coach of the year by the Iowa High School Baseball Coach’s Association. 

DeForest was selected as the winner for the central district, as he was voted for this honor by his peers. DeForest released a statement to KNIA/KRLS sports about being selected for this honor. 

“It’s an honor to be selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year for the central district in baseball! A huge thank you to my wife and kids for sacrificing so much to allow me to do something I love! A big thank you to Sheldon Card, Graig Eichenberger, Luke Adreon, and Rob Adreon for all they’ve taught me about the game! We have such a fun and dedicated staff and it’s a pleasure to work with them everyday! Definitely looking forward to another fun and exciting year!”

The 2024 Pleasantville baseball season kicks off on May 14th.
