The Knoxville basketball Squads will embark on their busiest week of the season. Due to rescheduled games, both Panthers boys and girls will play four games starting with tonight in a makeup contest against Cardinal. The Comets may be what both Panther squads are looking for as the Panthers lost to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Friday. The Cardinal girls are in last place in the South Central Conference but are playing better as of late, getting their first ever South Central Conference win last week against Centerville. Panthers Coach Matt Ritchhart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this is a game they should handle, but he also knows how busy this week will be.

Ritchhart: “It’s a game we should win. Last year we beat them in the first game really and then beat them by less than what we should have. We also have a game Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, so it’s a lot of game in a short amount of days.”

The boys are looking to stop a three game losing streak and the Comets may also be what they are looking for. The Panthers have thoroughly dominated Cardinal in the previous three games winning by an average of 46 points per game. In the last game on December 1st, Knoxville pounded the Comets 89-24. Live coverage is on 95.3 KNIA with the pregame at 6:15. Audio will also be provided on the KHS Activities You Tube Channel.
