The Knoxville Food Youth Initiative (KFYI) summer food service program will be back in 2024.

The KFYI wanted the community to be aware that the State of Iowa’s decision to not participate in the summer EBT program will have no bearing on the summer food service program. The summer food service program will be back for this upcoming summer as funding is appropriated and local planning is already underway. The four communities that this program serves are Knoxville, Bussey, Melcher-Dallas, and Pleasantville. This program serves free breakfast and lunch over the summer to any kids in these communities with no requirements and no questions asked.

This will be the tenth consecutive year of the summer food service program.
