The Knoxville Public Library is holding an art reception for local artist Kim DeSocio tonight.
The drop-in event will be happening from 5:30-7:00 pm, but the library encourages anyone wanting to hear a Q&A session with the artist to arrive by 6:00 pm. This is an opportunity for the community to meet the artist, view new pieces, and enjoy light refreshments. Kim’s work has been on display at the library for the last month, and this will be the last chance to view those pieces. DeSocio is a local artist who moved to Knoxville several years back from Brooklyn, NY. DeSocio specializes in acrylic artwork but also creates pieces from a wide variety of categories. Desocio encourages everyone to come out to the library tonight to meet her and check out her work.
“I’m incredibly proud to be asked several times to come in here to do any kind of artwork. If you’re out and about and need something to do, it should be nice weather on the 1st, bring your kids, come visit, stop by, check out the work, and the library because it’s so fabulous here and I think a lot of people might be missing out on it.”
