Continuing their second run through the American Rivers Conference, the Central College basketball teams welcome Loras College for a home doubleheader today.

In the twin bill opener, the Dutch women will be looking for an upset against the Duhawks, who are ranked No. 19 by D3hoops.com and No. 15 by the WBCA. The Duhawks are 16-3 overall and 8-2 in the conference after sustaining a 59-57 overtime loss at conference leader Wartburg College, ranked No. 11 by D3hoops.com and No. 10 by the WBCA, on Wednesday. During the first slate of conference play, Loras toppled Central 78-62 in Dubuque on January 6th.

In their pursuit to repeat as regular season conference champions, the nightcap of the doubleheader will play a big role in where the Dutch men finish in the league. Central, whose 9-3 in the league, enters today’s contest in tie for second place with 8-2 Loras in the conference standings and both sit a game back Coe at 10-2. In their January 6th meeting in Dubuque, the Duhawks rallied to edge Central with a 68-67 buzzer-beating win.

Coverage of Central’s doubleheader against Loras today can be heard live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 1:45 pm. Tip-off of the women’s game at P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium is slated for 2 pm, and will be followed by the men’s game at approximately 4 pm.
