Marion County Bank’s halftime entertainment at the Pella Christian vs. Pella basketball game Friday night earned the schools a $3,700 donation.

Students from both schools worked together in the event by shooting layups, free throws, three pointers and half court shots to earn a donation from Marion County Bank.

Since 2004, nearly $150,000 has been given to Pella Community High and Pella Christian High from Marion County Bank during the halftime events. The first event this winter raised $4,250, bringing the 2023-24 amount to just under $8,000.

Prior to the games, Dollars for Scholars hosted the second of two pork suppers to raise funds for financial aid to support graduating Pella, Pella Christian, and homeschool students, and the Pella Food Shelf hosted Fill the Food Truck Friday.
