The Pella School Board will hold a work session to discuss the 2025 fiscal year budget at their meeting this evening.

The board will review the district’s general fund financial forecasts through various scenarios that include no changes, the official recommendation from Superintendent Greg Ebeling, a significant drop in enrollment, and if deeper cuts are made. They will then officially establish a target number for reduction. Ebeling’s recommendation was $852,202 in reductions from the general fund, including $554,400 in the upcoming fiscal year and $297,802 in 2026.

Additional discussion will be held about the Ebeling’s recommendations and additional revenue generating ideas. Prior to the budget review, the board will work to establish rates for summer care and expanded preschool at the Viersen Early Learning Center and consider final approval of the 2024-25 academic calendar.

The Pella School Board meeting begins at 5:30 this evening in the Pella High School library and can be viewed electronically.
