Marion County Public Health held their monthly providers meeting on Monday.

The meeting provides healthcare and community organizations an opportunity to inform the public of updates within their respective organizations. There is also a presenter at each meeting and on Monday, Angie Gentry with Freedom for Youth spoke about the program and their process of becoming their own entity. The Freedom for Youth Program works on the four pillars of faith, education, leadership, and employment and Gentry tells KNIA/KRLS radio that the program helps prepare students to be leaders in the county.

“Freedom for Youth offers a place for youth to work on those four pillars, to really build relationships, be able to increase their mental health, and be able to prepare for employment in our county. The idea is that our country is growing and we want to do our part to help it grow successfully because our kids are the future of the county.”

The Marion County Provider’s meeting takes place the first Monday of every month at 9:30 am and is held at Marion County Public Health.
