The Pella School Board held a work session to discuss the 2025 fiscal year budget at their meeting Monday evening.

The board reviewed the district’s general fund financial forecasts through various scenarios that include no changes, the official recommendation from Superintendent Greg Ebeling, a significant drop in enrollment, and if deeper cuts are made. They then officially established a target number for reduction, which was $825,000 and included a few tweaks from previous proposals.

Additional discussion was held about a few additional revenue generating ideas. Prior to the budget review, the board established rates for summer care and expanded preschool at the Viersen Early Learning Center and approved the 2024-25 academic calendar.
