A threat was allegedly made by a Pleasantville High School student, which was reported to district administration near the end of the school day Wednesday.
A joint press release between the Pleasantville Police Department and school district indicated there is no ongoing threat to the safety of students or staff within the Pleasantville School District or the community. Additional counseling services will be made available at school today and Friday.
Pleasantville High School Administration was made aware of the potential threat involving a student currently enrolled. Law enforcement was contacted and included in the investigation.
Chief Joe Mrstik responded to the situation and spoke with the juvenile in question, who was detained within school premises and escorted to the Pleasantville Police Station for further questioning. A criminal complaint for Harassment in the First Degree will be filed with in juvenile court.
