A woman was killed in a single vehicle crash west of Knoxville on Wednesday.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office tells KNIA/KRLS radio that the victim was 78 year old Judy Phillips, who was traveling northbound on 92nd Ave . Phillips lost control of her vehicle as it rolled into the ditch at 3:51 pm. Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt says it is not determined how she lost control of the vehicle. 

“Obviously it’s still under investigation and hard to know. She lost control of the vehicle. Whether that was because of a medical issue or something else it’s still hard to be determined. Single vehicle accident and obviously a fatality.”

The responding agencies include the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and Knoxville Township Fire Department.
