The Indianola City Council discussed how to best guide and form a trailer truck/semi route through the city at their most recent meeting. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the construction on Hillcrest forced the bigger trucks to go through residential neighborhoods to reach the industrial park, which is not ideal for the residents and roads.
“It’s made a situation where they are pretty impactful on the homes. They shake the homes as they are coming through. So we want to make sure we are guiding the trucks through designated routes so that it’s not impactful. It’s open for discussion, we are going to be looking at that moving forward. Of course we have one more year of construction on Hillcrest, so we are going to have to do that in partnership with the businesses that we are also trying to encourage to come.”
