Marion County Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Raymie is seeking re-election.

Raymie has served on the board for the last twelve years and is hoping to continue. Raymie says he is proud of the work he has done during his tenure and released a statement to KNIA/KRLS radio.

“Twelve years ago, a friend asked me to run for an open seat on the Marion County Board of Supervisors. I have been honored to serve the residents of this County since. Honestly, I did not know how long I would do this, but after much thought and discussion with my wife and friends, I am announcing that I will be seeking reelection for one more term.

I am proud of the work we have done together for the past 12 years. Partnering with our cities, schools and businesses, the Board of Supervisors is more engaged in building the future of Marion County than ever, while making our services more efficient and effective.

Our partnership with our cities in developing new housing is now a model for other rural counties. Together, we continue to push back against unfunded state mandates. Most importantly, we have helped craft a vision of local government that understands its responsibilities to you, the taxpayer.

Thank you for your trust these past 12 years. I will devote the same energy to another term and humbly ask for your vote.”

Along with Raymie, Steve McCombs, Joe Cunningham, and Jim Mueller have also announced their candidacy for Board of Supervisors. Those interested in running in the primary election for the board of supervisors or auditor and sheriff need 75 signatures, which can be submitted March 4th through 22nd.
