The Norwalk boys basketball team closes out the regular season with three tough non-conference games this week, starting with tonight’s 7:45 contest at Ankeny. The game will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA and KNIA3. Pregame coverage begins at approximately 7:30.

The Warriors and Hawks have both won four straight games and are led by two of the top scorers in Class 4A. Ankeny senior Carson Johnson ranks second in Iowa’s largest class with 22.7 points per game while Norwalk senior Redek Born is fifth at 21.7.

The Warriors are 15-3 overall and wrapped up a share of the Little Hawkeye Conference title with Friday’s 75-39 win at Oskaloosa. The Hawks (14-6) finished third in the rugged CIML and are riding high following Friday’s 76-72 win at defending 4A champion West Des Moines Valley.

Norwalk faces another challenge Tuesday night at ADM and will host Dowling Catholic on Thursday. Head coach Aaron Pelzer expects all three of this week’s games to have a tournament-type energy and atmosphere. He is excited to see how the Warriors fare as they prep for the start of postseason play next week.
