The Indianola School District will have a new superintendent beginning this summer, as Tara Paul has been hired to take over for Ted Ihns, who is retiring after this school year. Paul currently serves as superintendent of the Estherville Lincoln Central Community School District, and tells KNIA News a big focus of hers to begin the job will be listening to the various stakeholders in the community.

“Hear the stories of people, and get an understanding of what the history of the Indianola Community School District, as well as the community is all about. Once we have that, I have an entry plan that I presented and gave to the board during my interview. Once we have that solidified, it is meeting and talking to the business people, talking to kids, talking to staff, to understand how they want to be represented and what the goals and missions of the Indianola Community School District and Indianola community are first.”

Paul will take over as superintendent on July 1st. Hear more from Tara Paul on an upcoming Let’s Talk Indianola.
