The Pella basketball team took out two weeks worth of frustration in the regular season finale as they exploded for a 95-73 win over Mt. Pleasant, as heard live on the KRLS2 stream Tuesday.
This marked the second time this season the Dutch topped the 90 point mark, and it came one night removed from a tough loss to #3 Waverly-Shell Rock. Ranked #10 in Class 3A, Pella left the first quarter tied with the Panthers, only to drop a 33-point second period to extend a lead they’d never lose.
Four Dutch players topped double-figures, including 20 points from Luke Hardman, 15 from Brayden Traetow, and 11 apiece from Cameron Rowe and Jack McGuire. Head Coach Derek Schulte says their offensive output reflected the effort they look forward to having during the tournament push, tallying 25 assists.
Pella improves to 12-9 overall and opens the substate basketball bracket Monday at home vs. Carlisle (92.1 KRLS/Pella Dutch Live).
