The Marion County Democrats will be holding their Presidents Day soup luncheon on Sunday.

The event will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville. The free lunch will include homemade soups, sides, and dessert. The topic for this year’s luncheon is Freedom to Read, and the two featured speakers will be Iowa City Public Library Community and Access Services Coordinator Sam Helmick, and ISEA General Counsel and Associate Executive Director of Advocacy Services Christy Hickman. Attendees are also encouraged to bring canned soup donations to the event to support the MLK Soup Drive for pantries in Knoxville and Pella.
