The PCM girls basketball team fell on the road to Monticello Wednesday night in the Class 3A Region 8 semifinals, a game heard live on the KRLS3 stream.

It was an offensive struggle for the Mustangs throughout the contest as they dropped the semifinals game 60-22 to close out their 2023-2024 season. PCM was led in scoring by junior Addison Steenhoek who had 11 points. PCM coach Sami Allison-Rodriguez says this was a special group to coach.

“They’re just great kids. I was just telling them in the locker room, I would coach this team over any other team we’ve played. They’re unselfish. They want everyone around them to be successful. They pick each other up. If someone is having a bad day, which happens because it’s life we’re going to have bad days, they’re just there for each other. I know I’m very blessed to have this group, and I mean that, and I’ve said that to them over and over.”

The Mustangs finish their season with a 15-7 overall record and will return their entire roster next season besides lone senior Elle Davis.
