indianola-8

Both teams got off to a slow start, but the Indianola boys basketball team eventually gave way to the Bluejays of Bondurant-Farrar in their regular season finale Thursday evening, falling 78-51.

The Indians kept it close after the first quarter trailing only 12-8, but gave up an 11-0 run to start the second to fall behind and wouldn’t be able to get it much closer throughout the contest trailing 32-22 at the halftime break. Both teams found better offense in the third but it was still the Bluejays ahead 57-42 going into the fourth, and the pace never let up in the fourth.

George Blake led the team with 19 points, while Andrew DeWall scored 10.

Indianola ends the regular season with a record of 2-19, and travels to Des Moines Roosevelt on Monday for the first round of substate play.
