The PCM boys basketball team fell on the road to Des Moines Christian Thursday night in the Class 2A District 7 semifinals.
The strong effort by the Mustangs on both sides of the ball was not enough to contain the powerful offensive effort of the Lions as PCM dropped the contest 73-53 to end their season. The Mustangs were led in scoring on the night by junior Gavin Van Gorp who had 16 points. PCM ends their season with a 10-13 overall record and first year coach Tony Ford talked about what this group of seniors meant to him.
“You couldn’t ask for a better group of seniors, and I would even say Gabe Hobbs our manager, he is an absolutely fantastic dude. I’ve known these guys since they’ve been in fourth grade. I coached them in little football and just to see how far they have come but not lose their respect, character, and personalities. A lot of them are faith driven, and I’ve just seen them grow into fantastic people.”
PCM will graduate five seniors total.
