The Pella Christian High School Large Group speech program received an all-state nomination at the Large Group Speech Contest late last month.

The non-performing nomination was awarded to Pella Christian’s Readers Theatre for their performance of Pullman Car Hiawatha. Cast member Emma De Boef said that nomination was not something that the group expected, but added that it was an honor to have their hard work recognized.

“I mean honestly it’s been really cool to see how far we’ve come and how we were able to pull off that non-performing nomination, even though we all weren’t expecting it. And all of us were just juniors, sophomores, and freshmen, just a ton of us all together, not just upperclassmen doing this. So, that was really cool. ”
