The Pleasantville boys basketball team will take on South Hamilton in the Class 2A District 8 finals in Boone on Tuesday.

The Trojans have defeated Colfax-Mingo 66-33 and Roland-Story 65-58 in the first two rounds of district play to advance to the finals on Tuesday. The winner of the game Tuesday night will advance to the substrate final with a chance to go to the state tournament and Pleasantville coach Taylor Phipps hopes for a strong showing of Trojan fans in Boone.

“I’m expecting a really strong Trojan crowd. The kids definitely deserve it. They’ve worked hard the past several months and poured a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into trying to make it as far as we can go. I’m just excited for us to practice today, and the next couple days to get ready for Tuesday and see what we can do.”

The district finals game Tuesday night in Boone tips off at 7:00 pm.
