With their win over Albia Thursday night, the Pella Christian boys basketball team prepares for a familiar foe in Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in the District Final on Tuesday.

The Eagles and Rockets have become common opponents on the hardwood, as Tuesday’s meeting will be the fifth in the past three seasons. In the previous four matchups, Pella Christian has gone 3-1. The Eagles three wins in those meetings have all come by 15 points or more, while EBF’s lone win during that stretch was a nine-point contest in November of 2022. While Pella Christian has had prior success against the Rockets, head coach JD Boer knows that holds no weight in Tuesday’s matchup.

“I like that game at the beginning of the year to kind of determine where we’re at and early on in the year we got the best of them. Like you said they’ve obviously improved and so have we, and it’s gonna be a great game. They have some great size, they’ve got a player in Brooks Moore who can really put the ball in the basket, and they play well around him too. ”
