The Knoxville School Board approved an agreement for the district to enter into a contract with DMACC for a college and career transition coordinator at their meeting Thursday night.

This is a 28E agreement that will cost the district nothing and allow them to have a DMACC college and career readiness counselor at the school two days a week. This is a shared agreement with PCM High School and KCSD Business Manager Craig Mobley says the counselor will be a strong asset to their seniors.

“The nice thing about this position is that it qualifies for operational sharing money from the State of Iowa and we actually get to where this position doesn’t cost the district anything. She is able to help out a lot of seniors in their transition to college, trade school, apprenticeships, and she helps out with financial aid.”

The agreement will be in place for the next three years and then will be re-evaluated after that.
