The Norwalk Community School District has announced the hiring of Jen Sigrist as the new Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.

Sigrist’s hiring recommendation was approved by the Norwalk Board of Directors at a regular business meeting earlier this month, and she will officially start her new role on July 1st. Sigrist has been working as the Executive Director at Central Rivers Area Education Agency, and has also previously worked as the Director of Personalized Learning and Innovation at Van Meter Schools. During her time at Van Meter, she led efforts to improve the curriculum, support students with different needs, and promote a more flexible approach to education. Sigrist, whose husband is in his first season coaching the girls basketball team and sons attend the school, says that she is excited about the new opportunity.

“Being in Norwalk for 10 years and my husband and boys being at Norwalk schools, it was just too good of an opportunity to pass up and being chosen is just a real honor.”
