The Des Moines Metro Opera has announced an update to the 2024 Festival Season this summer, including a world premiere performance of American Apollo.
The season runs from June 28th through July 21st, and will feature four mainstage productions of The Barber of Seville, Salome, Pelléas & Mélisande, and American Apollo.
The Des Moines Metro Opera saw record ticket sales in 2022, which were topped in 2023, and sales in 2024 are already ahead of the previous records. All four productions will be performed in the Pote Theatre at the Blank Performing Arts Center on the Simpson College campus.
