hospice-volunteer

Hospice of Pella has scheduled their next six-week training classes. Sessions will be held on  Wednesday mornings, March 13 – April 17 from 9 – 11:30 am at the Comfort House meeting room.

Hospice of Pella volunteers are members of the community that donate their time in service of those they take care of. Many times, the role of the Comfort House and home hospice volunteers is behind the scenes, but they also can be reading to a patient, weeding the garden or running much needed errands to a hospice patient in their home.

All hospice volunteers are required to complete the training class. Each class will give participants the chance to learn more about the hospice program and philosophy, as well as explore their own feelings about life and death. The class is taught by experienced hospice staff members and experts in other disciplines. To sign up, or for more information, call Hospice of Pella at 641-620-5050.
