The Indianola Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Community Broadband Action Network (CBAN) Wednesday, part of which features a non-profit organization that helps connect local residents with broadband infrastructure and education. Curtis Dean with CBAN tells KNIA News they received a grant through the Google Foundation and National Digital Inclusion Alliance, and works with other nonprofits and government entities to help improve their resources by taking advantage of broadband services.

“Organizations like WeLIFT, United Way, economic development agencies in certain counties around the state of Iowa and the country, everybody is working to improve the lives of the people they serve. Our network is designed to enhance what they can do by providing them connections, information sharing, and others, to help people solve problems more quickly and intelligently. Just to help provide support for those organizations that are doing good work like WeLIFT.”
