A Knoxville man was arrested on several charges late Tuesday night for shooting at a home in rural Marion County while allegedly intoxicated.

According to court records, at approximately 11:48 pm, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a subject shooting at a residence located at 1577 Pratt Dr. in rural Marion County. The callers identified the man as 34-year-old Bobby Raney of Knoxville. Raney had left the scene and officers located his vehicle at the 1100 Block of Attica Rd, where they conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Raney. Raney was intoxicated and deputies observed an AR rifle in the front passenger seat, along with a handgun in the rear passenger seat. Both firearms were within reach of Raney while he was intoxicated. 

Raney allegedly caused approximately $750-$1,500 in damage to the home he is accused of  shooting at. Raney was booked into the Marion County jail, where he faces counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a Class C Felony, operating while intoxicated, reckless use of a firearm, carrying weapons while intoxicated, and third degree criminal mischief. Raney is being held in the Marion County Jail on a $16,000 bond and is due in court for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
