Knoxville Bowler Tristen Carter wanted to better his state results from last season. He did that with a 5th place finish at the class 1A State Meet this week. Carter finished 7th after three games with a 699 series and was seeded 7th in the knockout round, where he eventually fell in the first round of competition, however his score was good enough to place him 5th overall. Carter knew what he had to do to get into the knockout round.

Carter: “I knew I had to average around a 220 and I averaged a 233 to finish 7th. The 2A boys struggled and my score would have been a 2nd seed on Tuesday. So I figured it would be easier, and it was actually harder on Wednesday.”

Carter is a senior and is looking to continue his bowling career at the next level. At this time he is undecided on where he will play in college. Find a full interview on kniakrls.com that aired during this week’s Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page.
