The Indianola School Board met in a special session Monday morning. The board approved a previously tabled calendar amendment to make up hours that were lost due to winter weather. The district lost 31.4 education hours due to school cancellations, late starts, or early release, however with the calendar including built-in extra hours, only one day has been added to the calendar. The board approved a one-day extension to the calendar, making May 30th a full day of school, and the last school day for students now being May 31st with a 1-hour early dismissal. Staff is required to report to work on June 3rd to complete the year-end checkout and final contract day of the year.

The board also approved a bid from Miller Electric for $68,170.86 to improve the LED lighting in the Blake Fieldhouse.
