The Knights of Columbus Councils in Oskaloosa and Pella are holding the St. Mary’s Walk with Jesus for Life this Saturday.

The event will feature a rosary at 7:30 am, followed by a 21 mile walk from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pella to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oskaloosa. The first ten and a half miles of the walk will raise funds for Pathways of Pella, while the second ten and a half miles will raise funds for The Growing Place in Oskaloosa. Joe Lickteig with the Pella Knights of Columbus says that the goal of the event is to help raise money for various needs at both Pathways of Pella and The Growing Place.

“Each organization certainly has annual budgets and board members that are helping them drive in efficient operation, but the dollars support the staffing needs first and foremost. The dollars also support helping to drive the marketing effort that helps to communicate with the population of both of our towns. Certainly, there’s some technology that can always be considered and improved.”
