An All-Star Showcase of some of Iowa’s best outgoing high school football players and cheerleaders will feature six student-athletes from the KNIA/KRLS area. Local players participating in the 52nd annual Shrine Bowl at the UNI Dome in July include Pella Christian’s Trevor Veenstra and Hattie Fancher, Norwalk’s Keilor Rodman, PCM’s Mark Bussan, and Pleasantville’s Caleb Cook and Rhya Cowden. All four football players will be members of the South team for the game in July. The group was recognized for their selections by the Za-Ga-Zig Shriners in Altoona on Wednesday evening. In addition to the All-Star showcase, the game also serves as a fundraiser to benefit Shriners’ Children Hospital and its mission to provide pediatric care anywhere, regardless of the families’ ability to pay.
