No injuries were reported in the Knoxville house fire Friday afternoon, and the cause is still unknown.
At 2:10 pm, the Knoxville Fire Department was paged for a report of a structure fire at 710 West Washington St. Knoxville Fire Department Battalion Chief Trenton Bacus says the scene was busy upon arrival.
“When we got here, Knoxville PD had helped the person out of the house. Crews found heavy smoke inside with heavy fire upstairs. It was difficult getting upstairs to the fire. We had multiple agencies on scene with us to assist. There were multiple factors to where the fire was. We had some plaster, drywall, along with a metal roof holding some heat, so that was a little bit of a struggle trying to get into it.”
The responding agencies include the Knoxville Fire Department, Knoxville Police Department, Pella Fire Department, Marion County EMS, Pella Ambulance, Knoxville Rural Fire, Indiana Township Fire Department, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
