The Pella School Board held a review of K-5 class size standards at their meeting Thursday evening. The board received details about how class size compares to other districts and how staffing fits various needs with different elementary levels. Ultimately, the discussion was held to inform the group about the potential impact further reductions could have if enrollment continues to decline further than projected in the coming school years.
Other action items on the agenda that were approved included a district career and academic plan, a contract with Training Wheels for drivers education, a 2025 Choir Trip to Orlando, health and vision insurance plans, and a user agreement with the city of Pella for Bos Landen and golf uses, as well as policy changes to the 505.8-R section of the district handbook and accepting the 2022-23 fiscal year audit.
