After finishing atop the podium in both events he competed in and winning his second-straight Indoor Track MVP honor, Spencer Moon has been named one of the American Rivers Conference’s Male Athletes of the Week.

Moon earned his third weekly honor of the season after continuing his incredible career for the Storm at the A-R-C Indoor Championships. Moon started his meet by defending his 5,000-meter title on Friday. He pulled away with around a mile to go to win the event in a time of 14:49.07.

The Lake City, Iowa native then completed his meet with an eerily similar victory in the 3,000 meters to retain his title in the event. He once again made his move with around a mile to go and comfortably won in the end. His time of 8:16.11 also broke the previous championship and facility record.

Moon has now won his last seven individual conference championship races (indoor and outdoor), including the last four 5,000-meter races. He has now 13 all-conference honors in track and field throughout his career.
